It took us a bit to switch gears back into normalcy after our showing at PAX West, but we were just warming up!

In Recent News
Since our previous Community Update, we had an exciting announcement for ASTRONEER with our upcoming Megatech DLC, the second major expansion for the game! This will also be accompanied by a FREE Major Update, both of which will add new large-scale tech that puts the MEGA in Megatech. Read up on the full announcement here if you haven’t already, and don’t forget to Wishlist!
But that’s not all we announced, we also shared that we’d soon be running a special STARSEEKER Direct livestream to finally give everyone a proper look at the game. We may have been a bit murky about the details of exactly when this would happen, but yesterday we finally revealed the date!
STARSEEKER DIRECT
Streaming October 7th, at 10AM PT
YouTube – Twitch
That’s right, next Tuesday! We originally communicated that this would be falling within September, but we needed a little more runway in order to give STARSEEKER its fair share of the spotlight.
We hope to see you there; we have much to share and even have a few surprises lined up. Also, if you haven’t already, remember to wishlist STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions!

EXO F.A.R.M. is Back!
A couple weeks ago marked the start of the EXO F.A.R.M. event in ASTRONEER, bringing back everyone’s favorite space gourds treasure hunt and Biofuel production extravaganza. The event is back with a new set of rewards to unlock, giving players a chance to earn the Poison Apple set of cosmetics in addition to the PUM-KN Shelter for those who haven’t managed to unlock it in prior events. Check out our blog for all the details.
Community Roundup
We have a new roundup of community content to feature today, and we’re already trying something a bit different with it!
You’ll notice below the following entries that we’ve shared some emotes and comments, all of which correspond to reactions from the development team when we shared them internally in the mysterious space of the System Era Slack channels. We always love sharing inspiring moments and creations from our community, so this way we’ll be sharing some of that appreciation with you all.
When I stumbled across Richard’s awesome rap song there was no doubt in my mind that this should be the feature of our next Community Roundup! Not only is the song catchy and the lyrics clever, but the editing of this video is also impressive and really makes our beloved little space game look amazing. Check out their YouTube channel.

“Man, inspiring incredible fanart is one of the most rewarding things about being a dev.”
“We need this synced to the ‘Chill Beats to Terraform‘ video. Also, these are pretty impressive lyrics.”
Little Victories

There have certainly been some impressive creations made in Astroneer, but jannko2’s functional 8-bit adder stands out for this visually pleasing cable management. I don’t even want to think about how long this must have taken to set up!

“Using floodlights as bit toggle indicators viewable from a longer distance is really clever. You should be really proud for getting this working! It’s a lot of effort!”
“Be proud… we did not make this easy on you. I’m impressed with the organization.”
“That genuinely might be some of the cleanest cable management I’ve ever seen in such a large project LMAO.”

Peaco decided to share this proud moment of gathering all galastropods for the first time and being treated to their beautiful song. There’s always something pleasing about gathering a complete set, especially when you can plug them all into a nice display next to each other.

“The colors, Duke! The colors! If you get that reference, how are your knees?”
“Everybody loves a good choir.”
Sneak Leek
As a little warm-up to the STARSEEKER Direct, we figured we might share a cool bit of tech from the game that players at the PAX West demo got to see up close, our new dropships! Don’t you just want to attach one to a keychain or carry it around like a boombox?
The ESS Starseeker has more than just a few of these sleek dropships, built for the crew to drop down planetside on their expeditions. They’re more streamlined than the rockets you might be used to in ASTRONEER, but they’re perfect for short trips between the ESS Starseeker and any planet it might be in orbit of. Oh, and do try to remember where you landed, otherwise it will be a one-way trip.

Hopefully that’s whetted your appetite enough to come back on October 7th and join us for the STARSEEKER Direct, we’ll have much more to share then. Stay tuned!
– Honourael.
